A mountainous region, immersed in the clear blue waters of Lake Serre-Ponçon, this district offers an extremely high quality of life. To enjoy the area’s unique art of living, we invite you to join us for a tasting of goat cheese in one of the many local bistros, to discover the historic art of thrush (bird) hunting in the museums of the Ubaye Valley, or to hike along the spectacular trails in Ecrins or Mercantour National Parks..
Life is good in the SOUTH!
The Serre-Ponçon Ubaye Durance district offers visitors a breathtaking mountain landscape, a large lake for fishing or boating, and high-quality local products. Located in both Ecrins and Mecrantour National Parks, our area includes wild fauna (ibex, chamois, and ptarmigans), rare plants (Queen of the Alps, orange lily…), and unique scenery.
All of the area’s Tourism Offices offer comprehensive documentation on tourist attractions, sites, and activities. The Tourism Office staff will be more than happy to provide you with as much information as you need or to help guide you in your choices all throughout your stay. If you are looking for great ideas, accommodations to suit your specific needs, or just a snippet of information, feel free to contact one of our Tourism Offices!
